My experience started off really great with the tech using a paint on gel remover vs a drill that would ultimately weaken my nails. I asked for white nails with some gold. The tech pulled out some chrome colors of which I picked one. After my gel removal she began to shape my nails without asking what shape I preferred (shaping them in a way that I did not even come in with). After one hand I asked could I get an almond shape to which she said my nails were too short for almond, they were not I think she was just lazy. In my personal opinion nail techs will tell you your nails are too short so that you to ask for extensions to end up paying more. Knowing this I rolled my eyes to myself and said can I get extensions then to get the shape I want. Once she had dipped all my nails and was ready to put the chrome on I said are you going to do the white to which she up in arms freaked out that she heard I wanted all gold and two white. Mind you, there was no white in sight for her to even do two white nails. After her panic attack and telling a coworker that "we" misunderstood one another then speaking some in her native language, which I clearly do not speak, so can only assume she was speaking poorly of me, she finally attempted to give me what I wanted. She took the drill to shave some of the dip off then proceeded to do the white that I had originally asked for. The ENTIRE remaining tome she did my nails she kept commenting on how we misunderstood one another of what I was asking for. It was very annoying to have to keep reassuring her that I had originally asked for a certain thing and felt very gaslit on many things. At one point she commented on accidentally cutting me with the drill because of my cuticles that she for whatever reason chose not to manicure. I am very unsure when the price of getting you nails done went up and the quality went down. Why is a simple manicure not part of the process anymore? Probably because of the new products like dip and gel take more time to do so if you skip the manicure portion you can fit in more appointments, making more money and tips. I think my nails look awful and I will never return here. They are entirely too long, do not whatsoever look like almond shape, are extremely thick because they have lord knows how many coats on them because my technician messed them up and didn't go back to fix them properly. The chrome on the TWO nails I got is atrocious and I'm ashamed for even allowing myself to walk out looking like this when this is not what I wanted at all. I paid $90 with tip and I'm sure I will file them down in a day or two because I can't even function. We need to change the culture of getting our nails done. I realize product prices have changed and I'm okay with that but when you do a shitty job then you deserve a shitty tip. I'm sick of it. I dare a single nail tech to claim this as their work and advertise it as what they can provide ... no one would.
